I Am
I Am
Introduction

As we begin this month of April Gregorian Calendar-In this quest for identity it's also quite important that what we say we are, we become. You affirm you are the head and not the tail, then the head you will be. After all the bible speaks of the power of the tongue, to bless and even to curse. A tiny organ that can cause a wildfire.

Last time we discussed the statement: Who am I? Here is the link to the article. We stated in the conclusion of the article: We are who Elohim says we are.

James 3:5-6 - The tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue is a fire...

There is a wave of self-affirmations everywhere in the media especially on social media or even in Google. In moments of self-doubt, one can search for self-affirmations, recite, and feel empowered. Speak of the power of the tongue! What we say about ourselves, we truly become. What you speak, you manifest.

Now as we get back to the bible, the greatest writings of all times we see powerful, solid, soulful affirmations:

  • I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14-16).

  • I am the head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13).

  • I am no longer a slave to fear (James 5:16).

  • I am a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:16-17).

  • I shall mount up with wings like an eagle (Isaiah 40:31).

  • I shall run and not be weary (Isaiah 40:31).

The above are just but a few biblical affirmations. Stop yourself anytime you are tempted to say something negative about yourself.

In the book: Manifest by Roxie Nafousi, the writer states that you tell your mind what to believe. What you think in your mind or say with your mouth you manifest. It becomes a reality. Your mind takes in what you tell it. It does not exist in a vacuum. You create your reality.

When all is said and done speaking words of love and affirmations in yourself will help you speak good of others too, affirm and not discourage. Hence the great bible verse love your neighbour as you love yourself (Matthew 22:37-39).

As we begin a new day, let us all (me included) have a positive word following: I AM....

In all this, the power of the tongue comes to light.

Do we affirm or inflict doubt in ourselves using our words?

Do we encourage or criticize ourselves?

Do we bless or curse ourselves?

What we say we are, we become!
